Other Make casita, 4 Berth, (1974) Used - Average condition for age Touring Caravans for sale
Super, super rare CASITA OPALE CT folding caravan made in France in 1974. Built by Lenoir et Mernier. As rare as hens teeth, super light 620 kgs , so easy to tow that you forget its there. Very low drag as opposed to a standard caravan so less fuel consumption, and you can see out of the rear window of most vehicles as you drive along! Can be towed by the smallest of cars. Overall length 4.75 metres, width 2.08 meters. Refurbished interior so no longer the vivid orange, reds and greens that it was when built (as you can see in the original brochure pics). Now a tasteful blue white theme. This was the top of the Casita range when it was built. Seating and table area at both ends of the caravan with cooking area amidships. Both seating areas turn into double beds so plenty of room. Was wonderfully comfortable on our 5 week jaunt to Southern France last year. Some pings in the external aluminium but in very good condition for 41 years old. chassis and wheels including spare are sound. Comes with original awning in fabulous 1970's brown and orange! Original brochure and awning instructions included(in French!)
New plug sockets and fuse box fitted.
Gas hob works fine but note that I recommend a check by a qualified gas technician. 3 way fridge. Small unused electric oven also included. Camping chemical toilet and hook up cable included
Please note this is a vintage vehicle and this must be borne in mind.
A terrific retro scene caravan for music festivals, classic car shows or just going on holiday!
A really unique caravan.
