Avondale Leda Pennine, 5 Berth, (1996) Used - Average condition for age Touring Caravans for sale
This is a 1996 caravan so externally it does have signs of its age, but inside we have fully revamped it to turn it into a much-loved family van.
The entire interior has been repainted, all cushions have been replaced and recovered. It has had a new carpet and new curtains in the last 12 months.
Everything is in full working order including the electrics, gas hob, oven, water heater and space heater. We've just fitted a brand new water pump. It tows beautifully.
The front seating opens up into a massive superking bed which is really comfortable (especially if you add a mattress cover as we sometimes do, as shown). At the back the table and seating area folds out into a small double with a small single bunk over. We've never actually used the fifth rear berth but we do have the shelf.
Tons of storage space including shelves and a wardrobe and under all the beds.
The bad bits - it is an old van and some of the windows aren't in perfect condition (missing handles or stays) but everything is completely water tight and secure. It had damp in the front right corner when we purchased it two years ago due to a leaking seal in the front right corner but the leak was sealed and the damp was was professionally stripped out, the damaged parts were removed and replaced, the corner was restrengthened and then the surface re-covered. We have photos of the work being done if required. There are no signs of damp anywhere else. Externally the van is a bit scruffy, there have been a few dents and dings over the years but it's all just cosmetic. There is one crack to the front left corner that has been filled (doesn't look very pretty), and one small dent at the back. We keep talking about repainting the outside but just haven't got round to it.
It will come with our almost new and hardly-used chemical toilet which fits in the shower room well and is easy to empty. We'll also leave the shower curtain in the bathroom too. We have a solar system and inverter which we hook up to the battery so we can go totally off-grid and still charge phones and even run a hairdryer. We're going to keep our system but we're happy to recommend what's worked for us and where to buy your own.
Tyres are in good condition and have between 7-10mm tread and it has a new never-used spare wheel. Brakes have been recently serviced too.
We have used this van on several family holidays and at festivals and we are very fond of it. We're only selling as the kids are a bit older and less keen on sharing the rear berths plus they want to start bringing their friends so we're looking for a fixed-bunk 6 berth van. We are Caravan Club members so we believe in responsible touring!
Viewings are very welcome but if you can't make it down to Cornwall please let us know your phone number and if you have an iPhone we're happy to Facetime you and show you the van in real time.
WE WILL DELIVER! The price includes delivery anywhere in England or Wales (yes really!). Why? Just because we're in Cornwall and we know it seems like a long way for many purchasers, but we enjoy driving and are happy to travel (we run our own business so time off isn't a problem). We may be willing to deliver to Scotland but please contact beforehand to discuss additional mileage cost.
Please note we will need a £500 deposit before we set off if we are delivering. You're welcome to collect, and we can arrange a local caravan site for you for free if you want to stay locally for your first night.
Please message us with any questions or call James on 07525 128487.
